Statement
Agustín González Goytía builds his work from motifs that capture his attention, closely tied to the places he inhabits. His practice primarily draws from the imagery rooted in his hometown, Tucumán. Moving between abstraction and figuration, and between the modern and the contemporary, he creates paintings, installations, and objects that reference stories, memories, and vanished sites of the city, forming a microcosm that seeks to bring them back into the present. Ornament, landscape, the urban environment, and references to artists of the past are among the themes that run through his work.
